JavaScript is the language that brings web pages to life, making them interactive and dynamic. This course introduces participants to the basics of this language, enabling them to create user interactions and add advanced functionality to websites. Participants will discover how to manipulate the elements of a web page, manage events and develop interactive projects. At the end of this introduction, they will leave with the skills they need to enhance their web projects and improve the user experience.

Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of static web development, in particular the structure
    and styling of web pages using HTML and CSS.

Learning objectives

  • Discover the fundamental concepts of the language, such as variables, functions and control structures
  • Learn how to select and modify elements of a web page to create dynamic interactions
  • Learn how to capture and react to user actions, such as clicks or keyboard input
  • Design simple interactive functions, such as drop-down menus or dynamic forms
  • Acquire the basics of writing clear, maintainable code, while avoiding common pitfalls

This course introduces participants to the essential basics of the web, exploring the key languages HTML and CSS. By learning how to structure web pages and make them visually attractive, participants will discover the fundamentals of website creation. At the end of the course, they will leave with the skills they need to design and customise simple web projects, while understanding the impact of a well thought-out design.

  • Identify the roles and interactions of HTML and CSS in the creation of web pages
  • Use HTML tags to design a clear and semantic content structure
  • Apply CSS styles to improve the appearance and layout of a web page
    Design a simple web page using a combination of HTML and CSS, in line with good development practice.
  • Understand the basics of responsive design and the importance of ergonomics and accessibility in web design.
