Week 1, 2

We’re starting with the most basic thing: how does your computer work? We’re going to let you discover how your computer works on the inside. We start with the hardware and will then install and configure different operating systems. This is also a great occasion to discover how a terminal works! After these two weeks, your computer has no more secrets for you!

 

What?

  • Having a basic understanding of how a computer works

  • Using a command-line shell (Powershell, Bash)
  • Using virtual machines
  • Understanding the importance of cyber security within a company
  • Discovering the different cyber security fields

Week 3, 4, 5

Now, how does a network work? We start from scratch. You will be able to describe in a detailed way how networks function. Abbreviations like ‘TCP/IP, OSI, FTP, SSH, …’ will become part of your daily vocabulary. And you will also be able to apply the basic principles of managing and using a local network. At the end of this part, we will introduce you to the different kinds of attacks companies might suffer.

During this week, we will provide you with the principal concepts to start to code. At the end of this week, you will be able to write a bit of Python script!
